Volume V Number 8 . . . . December 11, 1998
Award winning author and illustrator Mireille Levert's latest books about her
lovable bear character, Molly, will be popular with children who know earlier
books in the series. But each little board book can stand on its own, without
previous introduction. Number five in the series, Molly Counts, shows
items that Molly needs when she gets ready for bed - 1 pair of pyjamas, 2
blankets, and so on, right up to 10 indispensable stuffed animals. Parents and
children will find plenty of opportunities to practise counting skills.
Number six, Molly Draws, is about colours, a new coloured object being
illustrated on each page. The little books are sturdy and well bound. Although
not as fat as many books of this type, their slimness makes for easier, lighter
handling for small children. Colours are bright, subject matter appealing, and
drawings whimsical.
Highly recommended.
