excerpt:
My daddy stays at home.
My daddy is a homemaker.
My daddy's job is to look after me
and take care of the work that
needs to be done around the house.
But there is always time for me!
This is a great book on a valuable topic for discussion with children. This author/illustrator team
does a marvelous job of covering all the bases. A wide variety of ethnic characters are used, and
all kinds of jobs are covered. I loved the way they included the different ways people get to work
Lots of mommies, daddies and children will be able to relate to the families shown in this story.
"But there is always time for me!" is a terrific refrain that is repeated throughout. Deirdre
Betteridge does a wonderful job with these bright colourful illustrations. Look for the cat in
each two-page spread. I'm looking forward to using this book in my "family" themed preschool
storytime. I'll definitely be buying a copy for my brother-in-law who is a stay-at-home dad. This is
a must purchase for every public library.
Highly Recommended.
