image Teaching children rhythm and rhyme is fun, and enriching their vocabulary through rhyme is a fulfilling activity. Illustrating the meaning to children ensures that children will understand the rhyme and will likely remember it.
    Sail Away is a wonderful book for young children that makes nautical language come alive. The rhyme is almost musically set to Victorian-style illustrations by David McPhail. McPhail has created a pirate crew consisting of a child wielding a wooden sword and animals dressed in pirate gear: eye patches, striped pants and peg-legs included. It's certainly the least fearsome pirate crew ever assembled. The watercolour paintings are bright and humorous as the crew makes the ship seaworthy. Sail Away is a delightful book that will be a favourite of children and parents alike. This is definitely a happy book.
