excerpt:
This Franklin book tells the story of a prolonged bout of hiccups and how they were cured. Franklin’s gulping his lunch down one day superduper fast started his hiccups. After many different cures had been tried, Franklin’s Granny came over to the house and shook pepper on his hanky. When Franklin breathed in the pepper, he sneezed and sneezed, and the hiccups were cured. Then, in a rush to go to Bear's house, he gulped down his dinner superduper fast, and...........................started hiccupping again! Franklin stories always have a gentle, funny lesson for the young reader, and this one is no exception. The illustrations are endearing, colourful, and full of life. Highly Recommended. Luella Sumner of Red Rock, ON, is a retired librarian.
