excerpt:
Pig the Fibber is the newest work from author-illustrator Aaron Blabey. This book is a successful addition to his first Pig book, Pig the Pug. Whereas Blabey's first book dealt with the importance of sharing, this new one, however, deals with the consequences of lying.
Blabey's illustrations are the perfect addition to his funnyyet moralisticstory. Both Pig and Trevor are expressive in their eyes and body language throughout the pictures, thereby adding depth to the humour throughout the tale. The colours are bright but used cohesively so that each page accents the one before and after it. The illustrations are brilliant and a source of genuine laughter. Thanks to the genius of the illustrations and the humour of the prose, Aaron Blabey's Pig the Fibber is a joy for all ages. The creative touches of Pig scribbling out the cover and first page to make it seem as though he's rewritten on it will please fans of Melanie Watt's Chester series. Pig the Fibber is a must-read for dog lovers, or anyone who has ever owned an unruly dog. Highly Recommended. Nikita Griffioen is currently finishing up her degree at British Columbias University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC, will go on to teach high school, and hopes to write and illustrate books of her own.
