The Midnight Club
The Midnight Club
At exactly midnight, she woke her big sister.
Becca held up a finger on one hand and two on the other. Milly did the same. The sign of the Midnight Club.
The Midnight Club is an adorable story that features two sisters, Milly and Becca, who meet at midnight for some fun adventures after their parents go to sleep. Together, the duo has a lot of fun, from eating from a jar of jellybeans to trying on their mother’s clothes. They also use plants to create monster shadows. Accompanying their night’s adventures is their cat, Oliver. At the end of the night, they tidy up to leave no trace of their adventures, and they quickly fall asleep.
Kang’s illustrations are light and whimsical. The use of the yellow tones for light really stands out in the artwork.
This book is relatable to anyone who has a sibling or cousin who likely have been honorary members of the midnight club themselves. Overall, The Midnight Club is a short, simple story that has a feel-good vibe.
