Munsch-a-Thon!: A Robert Munsch Collection
Munsch-a-Thon!: A Robert Munsch Collection
In this collection, Scholastic has assembled six of Robert Munsch’s authored texts that, with one exception, were originally published between 2015 and 2019. The odd title out, Get Me Another One, first appeared in 1992. All of the titles have been previously reviewed in CM.
Contents:
Ready, Set, Go!
So Much Snow!
The Enormous Suitcase
Bear for Breakfast
Moving Day!
Get Me Another One!
Of the collection’s six titles, four were illustrated by Michael Martchenko while the artwork for Bear for Breakfast was rendered by Jay Odjick and that for Get Me Another One! by Mike Boldt.
The collection concludes with three pages titled “About the Stories” in which Munsch briefly explains what prompted him to write each of the six books. The closing two pages provide succinct biographies of Munsch and the three illustrators connected to the books.
Munsch-a-Thon! is an excellent addition to school and public libraries. Its hardcover format and larger page size make it most useful for library read-to group sessions, and its price, less than the cost of acquiring the six titles separately, makes it an economical home purchase.
