Three City Kitties
Three City Kitties
In a brown brick building
on a busy road,
live three city kitties...
Nori, Yeti, Flo.
Outside the window,
wheels spin, legs stroll.
Dogs do what dogs do.
Little hands wave hello.
Ashley Barron has written a delightful story about three playful kittens who spend the day doing what cats do. Nori, Yeti and Flo look out of the window onto the street watching as cars and buses, children on bicycles and people pass by. In their own cozy home, the kittens nap in the warm sun, hide from people who come to the door and wait politely for their meals. Children will adore these three mischievous kittens who delight in each other's company by frolicking about the house together.
The illustrations are an extension of the rhyming text as they express in detail how the kittens chase each other playfully. The pictures are created as a collage made with coloured cutouts. In these images, Barron’s characters show movement as the kittens scamper about their home leaving behind crumpled floor rugs. The bright and colourful layout will appeal to children as they follow the kittens throughout their day.
