Baby Animals Eating
Baby Animals Eating
A father jackal returns after a morning of hunting. The pups greet him and beg for food by licking his face. Dad will spit up some of the meat he’s eaten and share it with the pups.
Get up close and personal with some of the world’s cutest wild animal babies and their parents! Learn what they like to eat and where they get their food from, as well as the proper terms for the animals’ babies (e.g., koalas – joeys, jackals – pups, racoons – kits).
Suzi Eszterhas’ photographs are stunning and wonderfully showcase the animals by focusing in on them and having the background blurred. The photographs capture the animals in action during their feeding sessions, playing with their mom’s leftovers, begging for food, and on the hunt for their next meal. From a bear cub grabbing onto a fish from his parent with its mouth, to a penguin chick opening its beak to receive some regurgitated fish from its dad, to cheetah cubs being taught how to stalk and catch prey, to a giraffe calf plucking fresh green leaves, to warthog piglets drinking milk from their mother’s body, Baby Animals Eating teaches the reader the diverse ways baby animals eat. The colours of the photographs are vibrant, and the resolution of the photos provides a detailed look at the animals’ fur, hair, feathers, and facial features.
